Politicians have become accustomed to exploiting taxpayers for their political careers and financial benefits, leaving them uncertain about how to handle a President who declares "enough" and a rocket scientist who is beginning to scrutinize the records and reveal decades of financial misuse amounting to trillions.
For decades, the leadership in D.C. has shown indifference. They disregarded American dollars, interests, and even lives. Consider the glaring contrast between the tens of billions sent to Ukraine and the aid provided to hurricane victims in North Carolina. Fortunately, we now have an administration that values every American life and taxpayer dollar appropriately, unlike a President who feels the need to pardon his entire family.
The present macro evaluation by DOGE, the Department of Government Efficiency established by President Trump, indicates that annually, between $1 trillion and $2 trillion is expended on waste, fraud, and what can be termed as 'money laundering.' This figure is roughly equivalent to the amount added to the national debt last year. This year's debt is projected to surpass $2 trillion.
If you listen to traditional news outlets, you'll hear that Elon Musk is portrayed as the villain, rather than politicians, the Deep State, NGOs, legacy media, or any of the other profiteers benefiting from taxpayers and the increasing national debt.
Legacy media is a taxpayer-funded scheme. DOGE has identified nearly 5,000 media outlets supported solely by USAID, among them Politico, the New York Times, and even the British BBC. USAID alone has spent at least $500 million supporting a global industry of propaganda and censorship. It's naive to continue believing that legacy news is providing the truth, given the latest disclosures.
Why would any government official not involved in fraud oppose transparency and audits? The American public just wants to understand how their taxpayer money is being spent, but politicians have opposed these efforts for years. Meanwhile, the legacy media is filled with false outrage from those who have been exploiting you.
Democrats were once known for "reinventing government." However, they later chose to use it as a tool. Today, Democrats protect waste, fraud, and abuse, even if it compromises the separation of powers, because their wealth and authority rely on it. Their opposition to the first genuine attempt to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse from our government reflects poorly on them, leading to a negative conclusion.
A systemic issue with government is the lack of incentives that drive behavior, unlike in the private sector. There are no stock options, bonus plans, profit sharing, or other economic incentives to encourage positive employee behavior. Politicians can overspend beyond IRS collections without facing consequences. Government employees also don't view themselves as fiduciaries for taxpayers. Their positions have been secure, even if they underperform or their roles don't benefit the public. There are no profitability targets, efficiency incentives, or key performance metrics in government. As a result, poor behavior thrives.
We are currently witnessing just the beginning of how politicians have profited from the scheme. USAID serves as one example. A portion of the funding from USAID's NGOs eventually finds its way back into the campaign funds of politicians. You may disagree and let your cognitive dissonance take over, but the facts won't support your stance.
The offenders will battle to the very end, as the scam has been their source of income for a long time. Who would sensibly consider opposing the actions of Elon Musk and DOGE? Unfortunately, the traditional news media, which financially benefits from the scam, is encouraging audiences to despise Trump and Musk for their actions. Many people are now becoming aware and are displeased with what they observe.
Victor Davis Hanson had this to say: “This current counter-revolution is a return to centrist normalcy and is just beginning. It is deemed wild only by feral Democrats, whose high crimes and misdemeanors, and various conspiracy theories over the years of their madcap rule are now being revealed every day.”
Mike LaChance writes, “Democrats have reacted to cuts at USAID as if Elon Musk and DOGE are cutting off heat and food for elderly Americans. Nothing could be further from the truth. Musk and DOGE are targeting spending that is shocking to most Americans. Spending that most people did not even know existed and which is disgusting in the face of what has happened in places like western North Carolina, and other American locations in dire need. The reaction from Democrats has been so over the top that even some people on the left believe they are taking a massive political risk. One of those people is Ruy Teixeira, a progressive analyst who is aligned with people like John Podesta and the Progressive Policy Institute. He is a man of the left and he is sounding the alarm for Dems. Teixeira recently wrote at the Free Press: Defending USAID Is Political Suicide for Democrats.”
Scott Adams adds: “Yesterday, I was remembering how innocent we were in 2016. Or at least I was. We just preferred Trump, no big deal. Then came the shaming, the canceling, the physical threats, the intimidation, the social stigmas, the economic attacks, the fake news, the corruption, and eventually the revelation of the entire corrupt architecture of the country. Now we're smarter, and not so innocent. We're tougher. We're mad. And we have reinforcements that are more powerful than anything we have ever seen. We're not just supporters with a preference this time. Now it's ride or die. We will protect the Constitution. We will right the ship. Decisions have been made.”
None of this is going to end well for some. Trump, Musk and DOGE are bringing the receipts. The DOJ will bring the handcuffs. Less people will vote Democrat. Maybe the U.S. and the world will survive.
